Gal Pals it’s GAME TIME! As you’ve seen in our “Sporting Style: Rock Your Sweats” Polished for Pennies episode on Ulive… we LOVE transforming sweats and rocking our comfies anywhere we can in a stylish way! Since it’s time for the Stanley Cup Finals, I’m repping my PA team, sorry Flyers I’m hoping next year, the Pittsburg Penguins and showing you an easy way to give style to that comfy tee and sweatshirt with a a cargo-chic piece and a few sparkly accessories that of course POP and are “Heavy with Luxury“!

I’m a neighborhood girl at heart and that means I’ve had spent most of my childhood running around with the boys at the rec center. I loved to even sometimes look like one of the boys… not kidding. Baggy pants, tall t-s the hole nine yards! And I’d be a liar if I told you I still didn’t run around in my sweats from time to time. I mean really!  We all know the comfort of sporting gear is incomparable to anything else but we also know that now as grown Gal Pals, it’s nice to look Polished no matter where we are. So if you’re heading to a friends house, finals party, bar, or even the big game… This layered look adds a bit of polish and boyish charm for GAME TIME to that tee and sweatshirt! Starting with a great fitting pair of jeans! These ripped distressed Joes Jeans from Marshalls give off an edgy feel but are fitted well around the bod and tapered nice at the ankle, which still makes them look finished. Of course you already know that a great pair of jeans are an investment piece 😉 We’ve topped those great jeans with a few pieces from NHL.com like this distressed Penguins fair-trade T and super comfy reversible fair-trade sweat shirt. Throwing on a cool tee and adding the sweatshirt as an accessory, whether tied around the waist or even your handbag, is a cool way to keep it on standby for transitioning from day to night. It’s sort of like two looks in one and of course you can always tie your sweatshirt around your neck with your teams logo facing out.

But here’s another piece I love… This gray cargo vest from Marshalls that I got for $15.00! It’s a great layer to keep you cool and looking cool, near or far from the ice, and since it’s a nice color tie in to the sweat and tee, it’s a nice way to button up your look on pennies by keeping your sweats and staples matching! And since it’s still relaxed with the waist tie, and cozy material… it plays off the distressed jeans, sweatshirt, and tee perfectly.

Now for the accessories… A headband is an awesome way to add style to your sweats because it adds a little bit of sparkle that’s feminine yet not overly formal… it’s fun!! And for $1.99 at the Loft Outlet in the Philadelphia Mills Mall… HELLO SCORE, our headband mimics the colors of our team without being super matchy! A few metal bracelets, sweet aviator shades, wedge sneaks #fabfound at Marshalls, and a bag heavy with luxury from TJ MAXX for $24.99… Adds a rocking metal vibe to this look to have you looking like a fly fan as you cheer “WE WILL ROCK YOU” on behalf of your favorite team!

So really… What’s the perfect Polished for Pennies recipe for Stanely Cup Style?

  • Sweat shirt
  • T shirt
  • Great fitting distressed jeans
  • Metal accessories
  • Wedge Sneaks
  • Cargo vest
  • Maybe some tats for under $10 at shop.nhl.com 😉
  • and… ATTITUDE!
