With beautiful “Thank You” cards we found at Marshalls for $4.99, we thought to ourselves… what’s the best way to celebrate your guests or even say Dad for Father’s Day? Saying Thank you!! So in honor of the many people that sit around our table and yours, here’s a cool Polished for Pennies way to say Thank You to the people who mean so much! And with this deep, rich, cobalt blue tablescape… it’s the perfect way to say Thanks to Dad on his special day!
Keep in mind, no tablescape has to break the bank! We believe that if you’re shopping with inspiration at thrift stores, dollar stores, discount retailers, and HEY even in your own cupboard you can make any table look like a million bucks! When these beautiful blue and gold metallic thank you cards were spotted on the shelves at Marshalls, we knew that that would be the color to play with, so we scoured some more of the store and found stunning short Italian murano glass tumblers for $7.99 for a set of 4, and 4 gorgeous blue, floral printed, cork board placemats for $9.00! All of them on clearance!
Now we could have totally used a few plain white dishes we had at the house, but we figured why not take a trip to the dollarstore and see what we could find! Since those beautiful placemats would have been such a shame to cover up, we saw a few clear glass dishes and matching tall standing glasses and we knew we were happy we made the trip!
*When you have something so bold, like those placemats, the last thing you want to do is hide them. The best way to celebrate your tablecloth, placemat, or charger underneath is to go with a glass plate for a cool way to show it off!
Since this table is meant to say “Thanks” we used the cards as napkins rings of sorts! *By simply placing the napkin inside the and folding it over, boom we’re in business! And how about this idea, we made the envelopes into standing place cards for you to personalize each seat by just standing the envelope on its fold! Nothing at P4P goes to waste here! And by the way, how nice would it be to place a few pens around and have each guest at the table write a little note of thanks for Dad in their individual cards? The messages don’t have to be long, but a few small, sweet words for Dad to read aloud as momentos will make your table the happiest place on earth and one filled with love to celebrate him.
*Final touches: Adding the white tablecloth, gold stem wear to mimic the cards, fresh flowers, and even small slices of lemon to the tops of the water glasses made the whole table elegant yet still relaxed! We wanted a table for our Dad that would make him want to dive right in, and we think not only our Dad but your Dad would love our Polished for Pennies table too!
P.S. You could be serving pizza on this thing! It wouldn’t even matter… it’s the thought and attention to detail that Dad will never forget! You thought of him and just wanted to says thanks, and that my dears is priceless and the purpose of Father’s Day.
